I take note of the key concepts, key phrases and keywords/key sentences which provide the meaning of the material significantly. I read the material thoroughly and create a picture in my mind. I try to recollect the sequence of events. In case of written material, I read the material thoroughly once and twice if necessary. I try to keep the key concepts/ideas in my mind so that I can relate the recollected material with the other parts of the written material. In case of videos, I try to find out the transcript and then read the transcript thoroughly.
